How Karumi handles your data

This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) has the purpose of clearly and precisely informing the users (the “Users”) of its services and of the website hosted under the domain name www.karumi.com (hereinafter the “Website”), as well as other data subjects, whose personal data may be processed by the company GOKARUMI, S.L. and its subsidiaries (hereinafter, “Karumi”), whose identification data are collected below.

Karumi and the Website respect and protect the privacy and personal data of Users and other data subjects. This Privacy Policy informs about the data that Karumi collects through the services provided, the ways in which this information is processed, shared and protected and what are the choices of Users and data subjects with respect to that information.

This Privacy Policy is only applicable to Karumi and the Website. Karumi declines any responsibility for the different privacy policies and protection of personal data that may contain web pages to which the user can access through hyperlinks that appear on the Website, as well as on the privacy policies of those persons to whom Karumi communicates this information.

The inclusion of personal data in the forms provided for their recollection, as well as the browsing through the Website and the provision of personal data during the provision of the services, entails of necessity and without reservations the awareness and acceptance of the present Privacy Policy, and therefore it is recommended that the Users read it carefully in advance.

In the event that the User provides data of third parties or shares and/or allows access to such data by other third parties or Users, said User declares that they have obtained the consent of such parties and undertakes to convey to said third parties the information contained in this Privacy Policy, exempting Karumi from any liability in this respect.

Data required for data processing

The provision by the Users of the data requested in the registration forms and in the moments in which the User proceeds to the payment of the service, both through the Website and/or through some other website or provider contracted by Karumi to provide the service to the Users, as the case of EVENBRITE, is totally voluntary. Even though, not providing some data in some specific processes may result in the impossibility of accessing to certain the services provided by Karumi.

The Users shall be responsible, in all cases, for the veracity, accuracy and authenticity of the personal data provided. Karumi reserves the right to exclude from the services supplied any Users who have provided false data, without prejudice to any other actions which may correspond to it in Law.

Information collected by Karumi

Karumi collects the following data:

  • Identifying data, such as name, surnames, birth date, sex and/or ID numbers.

  • Contact details, such as e-mail address, postal address and/or telephone number.

  • Data regarding the training and education level and place of work, such as the name of the company where the User works or the specific knowledge in the subjects related to the courses taught.

  • Pictures or photographs taken during the provision of the service by Karumi.

  • Bank details or credit card data from the User.

  • Data collected in the comments made by Users through the platform provided by Karumi.

Data obtained through the Website through the use of tools such as the so-called cookies that obtain information on the User's browsing.

Purposes and legal bases for processing

Below, you may find the purposes of the data processing carried out by Karumi and the legal basis on which each of the relevant data processing is based:

  • Karumi uses the identification and contact details, data on the training and education level, place of work and banking or credit card information to provide services concerning the offering and giving of courses. This data processing is necessary for the execution of the contract between Karumi and its clients or Users. Likewise, it is not possible for Karumi to offer his services if this processing is not carried out.

  • Karumi uses the identification and contact details, data on the training and education level, place of work, banking or credit card information and data collected from Users comments to evaluate the functioning and know the opinion about the services rendered; as well as to process and solve complaints or suggestions. Karumi considers that it has a legitimate interest to perform such data processing considering that it allows the improvement of Karumi’s services and Users experiences. 

  • Karumi has a legitimate interest in using the data collected to contact its customers and inform them of the latest developments regarding the offer of new courses, for advertising purposes. This advertising will be done only and exclusively after obtaining User’s consent. 

  • Karumi will be able to process the banking or credit card details of the Users in order to manage the payment of the services provided. The legal basis of such processing is the execution of the contractual relationship that binds Karumi with its clients.

  • Karumi may publish the images or photographs made. This publication will be made only and exclusively after obtaining the consent from the data subjects in question.

Regarding the information obtained through cookies, the legal basis will be configured by the consent as defined by the applicable regulations and the guidelines issued by the Spanish Agency for Data Protection on the date on which it was issued prepared this Privacy Policy.

Conservation periods

Karumi stores the personal data of the Users to the extent that they are needed to achieve the purpose for which they were collected, and according to the legal basis of the processing thereof. Karumi will keep the personal data of the User as long as there is a contractual and/or commercial relationship with the User and while the User does not exercise the rights of opposition and/or suppression of the processing of personal data.

In these cases Karumi will keep the data duly blocked during the time said data may be necessary for the exercise of the right of defence or the time in which some kind of judicial, legal or contractual responsibility may arise, which must be attended to and for which it is necessary to recover said information, as a consequence of the processing carried out.

Acceptance of the Policy by Users

By accepting this Privacy Policy, the User acknowledges having read and understood it and accepts its validity while using the Website and while Karumi provides the relevant services. Moreover the User expressly and unequivocally consents that all processing that has consent as legal basis may be performed.

Users must modify the data entered on the Website, or otherwise supplied to Karumi, as they become outdated, being responsible, in any case, for the truthfulness and accuracy of the data provided. Karumi reserves the right, without prejudice to other actions that Karumi may take, to stop providing the services or to cancel those Users who provide false or incomplete information.

Karumi has no responsibility for any damages or losses that may arise from the falsity or inaccuracy of the data provided. Said damages will be the sole responsibility of the User.

Likewise, Karumi may disclose the personal data collected in the specific cases in which said disclosing is established or required by applicable regulations, or when so required by the competent authorities.

Communication of data

The personal data collected through the Website will not be transferred to any third party to be used for their own purposes different form those for which the User has consented to their processing. 

However, the personal data of the Users may be accessed by authorized Karumi personnel, and by other third parties or collaborators that provide services for Karumi, in order to manage the provision of services, the contractual and/or pre-contractual relationship with Users or to process requests made by Users. In these cases, in which the access to other collaborators is allowed, said access to data will be regulated in the corresponding contract as required by current regulations.

Karumi, for the processing of personal data, uses the services of companies such as MAILCHIMP or EVENTBRITE, among others, which could host some of their data outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. In this case, the resulting international transfers of data are subject to any of the appropriate guarantees described in the applicable regulations, such as the signing of standard data protection clauses or the subjection of the services rendered to a legally binding instrument such as the Privacy Shield.

Karumi may also disclose the personal data collected in the specific cases in which said assignment is established and required by the applicable regulations; or when so required by the competent authorities.

Users’ Rights

At any time, and/or when deemed convenient, Users may use their rights of Access, Rectification, Objection, Portability and Erasure (right to be forgotten) by writing to the contact email we have enabled for it: privacy@karumi.com; attaching a copy of the passport or ID card (owner of the data) and indicating in the subject matter, expressly, the request you wish to make: 

  • Access: Through the exercise of this right you can know what personal data of yours are being processed by Karumi; its purpose, origin or possible transfer to third parties.

  • Rectification: It means that you can modify your personal data that are inaccurate or incomplete and must specify in the request what data you want to be modified.

  • Rectification: Allows the cancellation of your personal data by inappropriate or excessive.

  • Objection: With the right of objection, you can object the non-processing of your data in cases such as: advertising and commercial prospection activities or when said processing is aimed at the adoption of a decision referred to you based solely on a processing automated of your personal data.

  • Portability: You will be able to receive your personal data in a structured format, commonly used and mechanically read, and be able to transmit them to another person in charge, as long as it is technically possible.

  • Erasure: You can request the deletion of personal data without due delay when any of the cases contemplated concur. For example, illicit data processing, or when the purpose that motivated the processing or collection has disappeared.

Modifications of the Privacy Policy

Karumi reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy in accordance with the applicable legislation. 

Once the Privacy Policy has been modified, Karumi may request the User or data subjects in question to accept the new policy as a requisite to continue with the provision of services. In case of not accepting the Privacy Policy once modified, Karumi reserves the possibility to stop processing the data in question for the provision of services.
